Honda Builds 1 Millionth Car in U.S. for Export

Honda (NYS: HMC) has built the 1 millionth car to be exported from the company's facilities in the U.S., the company announced today in a press release. The car, a 2013 Accord, was made in Honda's Marysville, Ohio, factory, and is to be delivered to South Korea.

The milestone comes 25 years after the company made the first export of one of its American-made vehicles. Since then, it has exported more than $22 billion worth of automobiles and components from the country.

Honda expects that it will become a net exporter from the U.S. within two years. Today's announcement comes a little over a month after the company celebrated its 30th anniversary of producing automobiles in America.
