CastleVille 'Gremlins' Quests: Everything you need to know

Updated

Alistair has discovered the Keystone of the Gremlins in your Kingdom in CastleVille, but these poor Gremlins are trapped in an awful state by the Gloom. This Gremlin Village is located on the outskirts of your Kingdom and can be accessed via an eight part quest series that's now available to complete in your game. We're here with a guide on finishing this Gremlin-filled event, thanks to Zynga. Let's get started!

A Key Discovery

  • Feed 1 Animal

  • Tend 1 Flower

As usual, this CastleVille quest set starts with an incredibly simple quest to complete, and you'll receive 2,500 coins and 50 XP as prizes to get you started.

Gremlins Gone Wild

  • Have 3 Blue Moss

  • Stun 2 Gremlins

  • Cast 2 Break Curse Spells on 2 Gremlins

The Gremlins you discovered in the first quest have been altered by the Gloom, so you'll need to heal them before you can move on. The Blue Moss can be earned by posting a general request to your news feed, so make sure to play the game on Zynga.com long enough to post these sorts of requests, as you'll earn the items faster (in theory). As for the Break Curse spell, this one is found in the pink Spirit section of the Spellbook, and it requires one Concentrated Mischief (ask friends), two Yellow Feathers, three Ogre's Belches and four Geodes to cast a single time. The Geodes can also be earned by asking your friends to send them to you. Once you stun a Gremlin, you'll have just 30 minutes to cast the spell on it or it will vanish. Completing this second quest gives you 2,500 coins and 50 XP.

In addition, helping a Gremlin will allow you to earn Charmstones which can be used in the Charmstone market, along with one of two items that are random across players and interactions. You may get to choose between a Pail of Water and a Yellow Feather, as examples (seen below).

Hidden Treasures

  • Tend 8 Sheep

  • Cleanse 1 Gremlin Bush

  • Tend 8 Flowers

The Gremlin Bush can be found over in the Gremlin Village, which you'll receive at the very beginning of this quest series. It takes six Charmstones to clear the Gremlin Bush, which is also called a Moss-Covered Bush by the game. When you finish this quest, you'll receive another 2,500 coins and 50 XP.

Running Gremlins Gather No Moss

  • Have 5 Acorns

  • Cast 3 Break Curse Spells

  • Craft 2 Loot Bags

Additional Gremlins can be found at random in the same way that you find some Beasties. That is, you can find them at random when tending items like plants and flowers, but they won't come out when tending animals. As for the Acorns, these can be earned by posting a general news request to your feed. Finally, the Loot Bags can be crafted over a 30 minute time period using items like Rainbow Feathers, Cotton Thread, Copper Trinkets and more. For completing this quest, you'll receive yet another 2,500 coins and 50 XP.

We Shall Fight Them in The Village

  • Cast 1 Banishus Maximus

  • Cast 4 Break Curse Spells

  • Spend 15 Charmstones in the Charmstone Market

The Banishus Maximus spell is found in the green Nature section of the Spellbook, and it allows you to banish up to three Beasties at once with a single cast. It requires items like Wood Clubs and Wool to create. Finally, the Charmstone Market is found over in the Gremlin Village, and it contains items like Animal Treat Bundles, Flower Plants, Gremlin Grass, Fertilizer Bundles, Gremlin Houses and decorations, boost bundles and much more, all of which cost Charmstones to purchase. Of course, the more impressive the item, the higher the Charmstone price tends to be, so keep that in mind. When you finish this quest, you'll receive 2,500 coins and 50 XP.

The Keystone to Safety!

  • Repair the Gremlin Keystone

  • Craft 2 Wood Gremlin Faces

  • Cast 2 Spells

The Gremlin Keystone can be found near the Charmstone Market, and it requires plenty of building materials to reconstruct. you'll need eight Carved Rocks (ask friends via news feed posts), three Mortars, 12 Amber and three Steel Bars to finish it off. As for the Wood Gremlin Faces, these require Wood Planks, Alchemist Powders, and Green Fairy Elixirs to create. Finally, the two Spells can be anything, so feel free to cast more spells on Gremlins to earn additional Charmstones, or just cast any two spells that you happen to have the ingredients for at the time. You'll earn another 2,500 coins and 50 XP when you complete this quest.

Charming the Stones Off Them

  • Have 7 Gold Oak Leaves

  • Cast 6 Break Curse Spells

  • Unlock 1 Moss-Covered Treasure Chest

First things first, the Gold Oak Leaves can be earned by posting a general request to your news feed. Meawhile, the Moss-Covered Treasure can be found back over in Gremlin Village. It requires 24 Charmstones to unlock, so you'll need to hold off on spending some long enough to uncover this treasure chest in your Kingdom. Completing this goal gives you - you guessed it - another 2,500 coins and 50 XP.

The Gremlin Guru

  • Cast 7 Break Curse Spells

  • Cast the Unicorn's Gift Spell

  • Spend 45 Charmstones in the Charmstone Market

This final quest is a hefty one, as it forces you to cast tons of spells, and even craft spells that are needed to create others. For example, the Unicorn's Gift spell requires you to first craft a Frostmite spell along with a Fireheart spell. You'll receive another 2,500 coins and 50 XP for finishing this final quest, but you'll also receive another Gremlin's Treasure Chest as well.

In addition to all of these quests, there's also an additional land area that you can expand to using 60 Charmstones, and you can spot it in the bottom corner of the map based on the Gremlin items it contains (it's pictured above). Finally, your free Gremlin Village land expansion also contains a Moss-Covered Palace, which require 180 Charmstones to clear. This means that you'll need to spend a ton of time helping Gremlins if you want to complete everything, and we wish you the best of luck in doing just that!
