This weekend represents something of a lull in the holiday season. The madness of Black Friday weekend is behind us, and any lingering Cyber Week sales are starting to wrap up. The remaining special shopping days, from Green Monday to Super Saturday, won't come until later in December.
Still, there are deals to be found this weekend. Here are a few.
• Suit retailer Jos. A. Bank frequently offers two-for-one suit deals, and right now it's offering 50% off all sweaters and 70% off most suits and tuxedos. But it's also got a more unusual promotion running right now: Make any purchase and get a free Android smartphone. It's unclear which phone you'll get, and you'll also have to sign up for a new two-year activation. Since you can already get many older Android phones for free (or close to free) with a two-year agreement, the value of this deal depends on what sort of phone you're getting.
• The Blu-ray of The Dark Knight Rises doesn't come out until Dec. 4, but you can already get a discount. Both Best Buy and Amazon are taking pre-orders of the Blu-ray/DVD combo at $18.99, well below the MSRP of $35.99 and a full $6 cheaper than Walmart. It ships free on Amazon if you can get your purchase total up to $25. But in this case Best Buy is indeed the best buy, as it has no such threshold for free shipping.
• If you're willing to spend some serious dough at J. Crew you can save big. When you spend more than $150 and use the coupon code WINTER on JCrew.com, you'll get 25% off your whole purchase; spend more than $250 and the discount bumps up to 30%. The deal is also available in stores, though a few locations are excluded in the fine print listed on the website. The deal is good through Sunday, Dec. 2 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
• Finally, next week Red Robin brings back one of its weirder promotions: Jim Day. On Tuesday, Dec. 4, anyone with the name Jim or some variation thereof (including women named Jamie) will get a free Sweet Jim Beam Bacon Swiss Burger. You can also get the deal if you live on James Street. You'll need to show ID with proof of your name or street address. The full terms can be found on the Red Robin Facebook page, where dozens of fans named Jim are currently celebrating their good fortune.
