Hidden Chronicles Guardian Expedition: Everything you need to know

Updated

While the major draw of Hidden Chronicles is arguably the game's ample amount of beautiful hidden object scenes, there's also an in-depth storyline that has been split into chapters that will only be revealed as players pass certain milestones in the game. The new Guardian Expedition feature will allow players to uncover more of these chapters in the "Master Chronicle" via timed events. These events challenge sleuths to earn as many points as possible on set groups of scenes, starting with a "Nursery Rainbow" scene.

The scenes in this Guardian Expedition don't come with mastery trophies, as the entire focus is placed on earning as many points as possible, rather than filling mastery meters. The more points a player earns, the more rewards they'll receive, and scenes can be replayed over and over again to earn more points.

For the first set of three scenes, for instance, the initial target point total is 1.3 million points, and you'll be able to play through the Nursery Rainbow, Colonial Hong Kong, and Reno Casino scenes as many times as you need to in order to reach that point total. When you reach it, you'll receive a reward of 20,000 coins, and if you keep playing, you'll eventually win an Orrery item as well.

While this first trio of scenes is the only set available at the beginning of this event, you can collect building materials to unlock the second set. This second set requires five Okobo, 12 Japanese Tea Cups, five Baoding Balls, 12 I Ching Coins, five Tarot Cards and five Scented Candles to unlock. As usual, these items are earned via either general news posts placed on your wall or individual requests sent to friends. Needless to say, this Guardian Expedition feature is incredibly in-depth, so make sure to jump into the feature as soon as possible to get the most out of it in your own game.
