Pets have finally arrived in The Sims Social, bringing some serious cute and cuddly goodness. (For more details, be sure to read our exclusive interview.) Of course, with a new feature comes new quests to complete. What--did you think Playfish was just going to give you a cat or a dog? No, you'll have to work for it, and here's are guide straight from The Sims Social team at Playfish.

Step 1 – Pretty Pooch Pals!

  • Get a Dog House

  • 'Get Advice on Dogs'

  • 'Research Dog Care'


Dogs need somewhere special to stay, so get your FREE Dog House from the store. Bella is interested in getting a dog, so visit her home and click 'Get Advice on Dogs'. You can research our dogs online. Click on a computer and 'Research Dog Care'. Do this three times. Rewards: 25 LP, 10 XP, 3 Energy.

Step 2 – Pretty Pooch Pals!

  • Complete stage one of your FREE dog house

  • Buy and place a dog food bowl in your house.

  • 'I'm Getting A New Dog!'


Dogs need somewhere special to stay. Complete stage one of your FREE dog house by finishing all four defined steps. Dogs need food every day, just like Sims. Buy and place a dog food bowl in your house. It's available in stores for 100 Simoleons. No need to keep the great news to yourself. Visit three Sims and tell them 'I'm Getting A New Dog!' Rewards: 25 LP, 50 Simoleons, 10 XP.

Step 3 – Pretty Pooch Pals!

  • Complete stage two of the dog house!

  • Buy and place the dog litter tray

  • Clear chewed slippers


You'll want your doggy to be comfortable in their new crib. Complete stage two of the dog house by completing all five of the defined steps. Hungry pooches eat. Full pooches... poop. Buy and place the dog litter tray in your house to avoid any messy mishaps. You can find a litter tray in stores, it costs 500 Simoleons. Clear three chewed slippers to complete this task. Rewards: 25 LP, 10 XP, 25 Social Points.

Step 4 – Pretty Pooch Pals!

  • Complete stage three of your dog house

  • Click the completed dog house and then click 'Select Pet'

  • Tell the world all about your new pet


Complete stage three of your dog house by completing all six of the defined steps. Once you complete the dog house, go ahead click on it and then click 'Select Pet' to adopt a dog. Next click on the 'Adopt't button. You will need two Animal Permits, one Loyalty and six Goodwill before you can adopt your new pet. Once you have all the collectibles and your new pal, tell the world all about it by posting a feed on your wall. Get five of your friends to click it too. Rewards: 75 LP, 20 XP, 5 Energy, 500. Simoleons, Animal Permit

Congratulations! You're a new proud owner of a pet now. Go ahead, visit and cuddle the little fur ball. But if you want to adopt a cat...

Step 1 – Cute Kitty Alert!

  • Get your FREE cat hamlet from the store!

  • 'Ask Bella About Cats'

  • 'Research Cat Care'


Visit the store and get the FREE cat hamlet and place it in your house. Have you seen any other cats around town? Pay Bella a visit and click to 'Ask Bella About Cats!' You can find out about cats online. Click on a computer and Research Cat Care. Do this three times. Rewards: 25 LP, 10 XP, 3 Energy.

Step 2 – Cute Kitty Alert!

  • Buy and place the cat food bowl in your house

  • Complete the first stage of the cat hamlet

  • 'I'm Getting A New Cat!'


Cats need food every day. Buy and place a cat food bowl in your house from the store. It costs 100 Simoleons. Complete the first stage of the cat hamlet by finishing all four of the defined steps. Visit three Sims and tell them 'I'm Getting A New Cat!' Rewards: 25 LP, 50 Simoleons, 10 XP.

Step 3 – Cute Kitty Alert!

  • Complete stage two of the cat hamlet!

  • Buy and place a litter tray in your house to avoid any... puddles!

  • Clear fish skeleton


Complete stage two of the cat hamlet by completing all five of the defined steps. Buy a litter tray from the store for 500 Simoleons and place it in your house. The litter tray costs 500 Simoleons. Clear three fish skeleton artifacts to give your new kitty space to play. Rewards: 25 LP, 10 XP, 3 Energy.

Step 4 – Cute Kitty Alert!

  • Complete the final stage of the cat hamlet

  • Click the completed cat hamlet and then click 'Select Pet'

  • Tell the world all about your new pet


Complete the third and final stage of the cat hamlet by finishing all six of the defined steps. Once you complete the cat hamlet, go ahead and click on it and then click 'Select Pet' to adopt a cat. Next click on the 'Adopt' button. You will need two Animal Permits, one Loyalty and six Goodwill in order to adopt your new pet. Once you have your new pal, tell the world all about it by posting a feed on your wall. Get five of your friends to click it too. Rewards: 50 LP, 10 XP, 75 Social Points, Bear Plushie
