Google (NAS: GOOG) is reportedly developing a feature to compete with Apple's (NAS: AAPL) AirPlay technology that allows users to beam content directly from a mobile device to other gadgets such as TVs and speakers. Over the summer, the search giant was planning on launching its Nexus Q, a streaming set-top box that worked with Android devices. It was scrapped at the last minute because of criticism over its pricing and lack of features. Microsoft (NAS: MSFT) also already has a strong position in the living room thanks to its Xbox 360 gaming console. Which of these three heavyweights will win out?
