Klondex Mines Secures Mining Experts to Advance Fire Creek Gold Project in Nevada

Appointments Further Strengthen Operating Management

VANCOUVER, British Columbia & ELKO, Nevada--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Klondex Mines Ltd. (TSX: KDX and OTCQX: KLNDF), a Nevada gold exploration company, announced today the expansion of its operating management with the appointment of Michael Doolin as General Manager and Sid Tolbert as Mine Superintendent of its Fire Creek project in Lander County. Both gentlemen bring extensive mining experience to Klondex and are vital additions to the Fire Creek team.

Paul Huet, President and CEO of Klondex, commented, "We are all very excited to welcome Mike and Sid to the on-site team at Fire Creek. Having worked closely with each of them, they were recruited because of their proven expertise in permitting, project management, metallurgy, feasibility studies, and mine operations. These areas are integral to our development plans for the next two years. A successful mine needs proven, dedicated management, and I am very pleased with the team and culture of excellence we are forging to take Fire Creek forward.

"Mike's immediate focus is on negotiating the final terms of a milling agreement to process our bulk sample. He will also oversee the permitting, construction and commissioning of a rapid infiltration basin to properly address groundwater we have encountered underground. A top priority for Sid will be to oversee the development and construction of the secondary egress that is required before we can commence bulk sampling of underground mineralization. We are confident in Mike and Sid's abilities to execute these critical initiatives on time and within budget."

Mr. Doolin is a 25-year veteran of the mining industry with substantial experience in the design and permitting of mining projects as well as work in various roles in milling, metallurgy and assay operations. His vast knowledge in permitting and milling should prove pivotal to the success of the Fire Creek project. He also brings years of experience successfully managing small and large teams on multiple projects. He served most recently with Great Basin Gold as the Esmeralda Mill Manager where he was responsible for all on-site operations. Mr. Doolin's experience also includes tenures with McClelland Laboratories, Eagle Pilcher Minerals, GD Resources, Marigold Mining, Corona Gold, and Round Mountain Gold, all in Nevada gold country. He earned his Bachelors of Science degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and Chemistry from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology.

Sid Tolbert joins Klondex with nearly 20 years of mining experience. He has extensive knowledge in the extraction of narrow, high-grade gold vein systems in Nevada, similar to those encountered at Fire Creek. He spent 14 years with Newmont Mining at the Midas Mine and its Vista project at Twin Creeks, the last four of which he served as Mine Operations Superintendent for both. Sid ensured the company's goals were met or exceeded while staying within or below budget. He spent nine years in prior Senior Supervisor roles such as General Mine Foreman, Senior Foreman and Mine Foreman. His prior experience as a miner in Nevada with Normandy Mining Corporation, Dynatec Mining Corp. and Thyssen Mining make him well suited for his role at Fire Creek. Sid's knowledge and understanding of mining methods, ground conditions, and dilution, as well as his ability to build and lead an efficient mining team, should play a valuable role in Klondex's success.
