AOL Hires Jack Bamberger as Head of Agency and Industry Relations

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AOL Inc. today announced that Jack Bamberger has been named Head of Agency and Industry Relations. Bamberger will work with AOL's largest advertising customers, the holding companies and advertising agencies. He will be responsible for advancing AOL's advertising partnership efforts, building creative solutions across platforms and identifying new revenue opportunities for agencies and their clients. He will also drive AOL's industry relationships with the 4A's, IAB, AAF, ANA; and lead AOL's Digital Content NewFront. Bamberger, who will be based in New York, will report to Jim Norton, Senior Vice President, AOL Advertising.

"With over 25 years of experience, Jack is an industry leader and skilled in cultivating long-term industry, marketing and agency relationships, and delivering high value to clients," said Norton. "Jack will be an invaluable addition to the advertising leadership team and play a pivotal role in continuing to grow AOL's already well-established agency team."

"It's a very exciting time to join AOL," said Bamberger. "The opportunity fits well with my skillset having been on the agency and media owner side, at startups, and at major media companies. I look forward to working with the team and our clients, and leveraging the extraordinary portfolio of highly engaged AOL brands in creating solutions that help our clients meet their business objectives."

Bamberger joins the AOL team from MEC where he was President of Digital in North America. He led MEC's digital practice and was responsible for the agency's offerings across digital, social, search, mobile and emerging platforms.

Prior to joining MEC, Bamberger was at Dentsu America where he was Chief Consumer Engagement Officer and set up the digital and social media practice in the U.S. for the agency. Prior to this, Jack worked as Chief Client Officer at appsavvy, where he managed the sales and marketing teams, providing marketers with social activity solutions and social sponsorships within apps across multiple digital platforms. Bamberger was also EVP of Katalyst, hired by co-founders Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg to create and implement the company's future digital strategy. During this time, Katalyst transitioned from a branded-entertainment production operation to a strategic social content creator, programmer and manager of social media networks and campaigns for a variety of Fortune 500 brands. While at Katalyst, Fast Company named the organization one of the "10 Most Innovative Companies In Advertising/Marketing." Bamberger also led Corporate Sales at Meredith Corporation as well as launched Meredith 360 as its Chief Innovation Officer. Earlier in his career, he worked at Gruner + Jahr USA, Industryclick.com and Time Warner. Bamberger was named one of the Mediaweek 50 in 2008.
