A Titan Goes After Intuitive Surgical

There is a new name in the very lucrative surgical robotics space -- Titan -- and it wants a piece of Intuitive Surgical's (NAS: ISRG) market. Titan's business model will be very familiar for anyone who knows Intuitive Surgical: Sell a robotic surgery platform to health care facilities, and then design and sell tools for that robot designed to perform specific procedures. It has even named its robot Amadeus, paying tribute to Mozart in the way that Intuitive's da Vinci robot is a nod to Leonardo da Vinci.
