The Fool Looks Ahead

Updated

There's never a dull week on Wall Street. Let's go over some of the news that will shape the week to come.

Monday
The new trading week kicks off with Qihoo 360 (NYS: QIHU) reporting its latest financial report. This will be an important report on several different levels, and more than just investors will be interested in what the Chinese Internet browser and online security specialist has to say. Ever since Qihoo 360 introduced its own search engine this summer -- and started to gain traction -- Baidu (NAS: BIDU) investors have been nervously eyeing the developments here.

Tuesday
Patterson (NAS: PDCO) is one of the companies opening wide on Tuesday with its latest quarterly report. The company is best known for its dental supplies, covering a wide range of consumable supplies. It also offers veterinary and rehab products.

Wednesday
Deere (NYS: DE) rolls in on Wednesday. The maker of agricultural equipment got a boost on Friday, when a Wells Fargo analyst raised the company's expectations following upbeat channel checks. Analysts are already expecting double-digit percentage gains on the top and bottom line, so this should be a solid report heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thursday
The market is closed in observance of Thanksgiving. The same can't be said for retailers, many of which will open on Thursday night to get a jump on the Black Friday wave of shoppers.

Friday
The official start of the holiday shopping season begins on Friday, and that's probably where consumers and investors will be. The market is open for an abridged trading session on Friday, and it should be a light day. No companies are slated to report quarterly results on Black Friday, and that's probably a good thing.
