Icon Pop Quiz tests your movie and TV knowledge on iOS

While there's no shortage of trivia games on the iTunes App Store, Alegrium is hoping to turn the traditional world of trivia and pop culture knowledge on its head with the release of Icon Pop Quiz, the developer's new free-to-play game on iPhone and iPad.

Icon Pop Quiz presents players with one of over 400 different icons, which are streamlined animated images that somehow relate to a TV show or film, or perhaps even a specific character within a popular movie or show. For instance, a set of orange and white stripes could refer to the tiny fish Nemo from Disney / Pixar's Finding Nemo. Each icon is a bit of a puzzle, as observant players will need to determine what each item is truly representing, rather than just viewing an item for what it is.

Icon Pop Quiz comes with power-ups for those that need them, like the ability to remove incorrect letters from the guessing board or learn more general info about the correct answer as an overall "Hint." Confused players can even share their images on Facebook or Twitter to ask their friends for help.
