Michael Temple to Join Protective as Chief Risk Officer
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Protective Life Corporation (NYS: PL) announced that Michael Temple has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of the Company effective Dec. 3. In his role, Temple will lead the Company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, including risk culture and governance, modeling, and risk reporting. He will be a member of the Company's executive leadership team, reporting to Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer John D. Johns.
Temple most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Unum Group in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has more than twenty-seven years of total experience in a variety of capacities in the life and health insurance industry with the most recent seven years as Chief Risk Officer at Unum.
