Pinnacle West Capital Misses on Both Revenue and Earnings

EPS came in at $2.21. The 13 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $2.25 per share. GAAP EPS of $2.21 for Q3 were 5.2% lower than the prior-year quarter's $2.33 per share. (The prior-year quarter included $0.09 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.)

For the quarter, gross margin was 52.8%, 150 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 40.4%, 170 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 22.1%, 60 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $694.3 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.13.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $3.35 billion. The average EPS estimate is $3.43.
