Phillips 66 and Center for America Partner to Help National Guard Members Find Jobs
HOUSTON & ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Phillips 66 (NYS: PSX) is partnering with the Center for America to become the lead corporate sponsor of American Jobs for America's Heroes (AJAH), a campaign aimed at connecting unemployed National Guard members with employers.
There are 358,000 National Guard members across the United States, and of those, approximately 60,000 are currently unemployed. AJAH is a nonprofit alliance with the National Guard to help unemployed National Guard members, veterans and spouses find skilled jobs in the private sector. More than 50 trade associations and state Chambers of Commerce representing more than 100,000 employers have already joined AJAH and are helping to promote the program to their members.

How American Jobs for America's Heroes works
AJAH provides direct, hands-on support for employers and for applicants, serving both as a critical stand-alone program and an important complement to existing employment efforts and job fairs. Job postings are plugged directly into a case management system that unifies National Guard, Employment Support for the Guard and Reserves (ESGR), and voluntary state supports groups around the nation into a unified technology infrastructure to improve matching and follow-through.
The campaign is ongoing since its inception last December, and is not limited to short-term events. Companies that register are assigned case managers who work with company recruiting staff to provide hands-on help in making matches. There are no fees to participating companies or job candidates.
