AIG Introduces OSHA Assist to Cover Construction Clients Facing OSHA Investigations

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today, American International Group, Inc. (NYS: AIG) introduced OSHA Counsel Assist ("OSHA Assist"), an enhancement to general liability programs for construction clients that provides policyholders with legal support and additional limits if a work place injury or death results in an investigation by OSHA.

"Supporting clients in their effort to meet and exceed OSHA standards for safety on construction sites is critically important to AIG," said Tom Grandmaison, EVP and Construction Casualty Leader, AIG US and Canada. "Equally important is our commitment to ensure the financial stability - and ultimate completion - of the buildings, bridges, schools, and other important construction projects in which our clients are involved."

Specifically, OSHA Assist provides expanded general liability coverage that includes:

  • Access to representation from a selection of expert legal counsel specializing in OSHA litigation;

  • Access to legal advice to address arbitration issues directly affiliated with an OSHA investigation; and

  • Reimbursement of defense costs up to a specified aggregate limit for as long as a Chartis-approved legal advocate is retained during OSHA proceedings.
