SimCity Social: Welcome winter with a free Dunkin' Donuts Skating Rink

The cross-promotional partnership between EA / Playfish and Dunkin' Donuts in SimCity Social continues this week with the launch of the Dunkin' Donuts Ice Skating Rink, which is now available for free to all SimCity Social mayors.

When you login to your town, you'll see the familiar pop-up alerting you to the current happenings within the game. Scroll to the right enough and you'll find the offer for the Skating Rink, which can be clicked on to take you to Dunkin' Donuts' Facebook fan page. From there, it's all a process of simply clicking on the link to claim your free Skating Rink, which serves as a decoration with a +45 population boost.

Once you get back into your city, you'll find the Skating Rink in your inventory, and it can be placed to instantly boost homes in your town, without the need for any energy or building materials to actually finish it off. This particular decoration also comes with no upgrades, so what you see is what you get. It will be interesting to see if any additional cross-promotional material launches in SimCity Social as the holidays approach, and we'll make sure to let you know if that happens. Stay tuned!
