Amazon.com Matches Netflix on Price

Updated

Amazon.com (NAS: AMZN) recently rolled out a new pricing choice for its popular Prime service. Instead of paying $80 per year, subscribers can pay $8 per month if they prefer. That actually ends up costing more over the course of a year at $96 annually, but some subscribers may prefer to have that cost spread out. That $8 per month is also the same price as both Netflix (NAS: NFLX) and Hulu Plus, two important competitors to Amazon Instant Video. Amazon's video service may lag, but the e-tailer is making up for it with its shipping and Kindle library services that also get bundled in.

Everyone knows Amazon is the big, bad wolf in the retail world right now, but at its sky-high valuation, most investors are worried it's due for a correction. We'll tell you what's driving the company's growth, and how to know when to buy and sell Amazon in our new premium report.
