'Zorro' Cabin Where the Hit Show Was Filmed (House of the Day)

Updated

What makes a House of the Day? Well, we usually require it to be huge, unique, a celebrity crib or just plain weird. Of course, this unassuming cabin in the hills of Simi Valley, Calif., doesn't seem to fit any of those categories. Don't worry, there's a method to our madness.

What makes this home special isn't obvious to the naked eye: It was used as a set for the 1950s Disney TV series "Zorro." The small adobe hut, built by Disney specifically for the show, sits on six "equestrian" acres.

According to the listing, the property, which has beamed ceilings and a large fireplace, is perfect for "painters, writers, photographers and cinematographers alike," and has inspired artists for decades. For $699,000, owning a piece of television history actually sounds somewhat affordable!

Hat tip to Curbed for finding this "Zorro" fan's dream.
