The iPad Mini vs. The Nexus 7

Updated

In the following video, technology analysts Eric Bleeker and Andrew Tonner look at the iPad Mini and how it compares with the Nexus 7. Eric notes that the Nexus 7 is a strong competitor and that reports of its screen superiority are accurate. Its larger drawback is a screen that's significantly smaller than the iPad Mini, with a worse hardware build and a less vibrant selection of apps optimized for tablets.

However, Eric's one note of caution is that the Nexus 7's selling at cost might not leave room for other Android OEMs to compete in the space. That could be a problem with Google attracting more low-end tablet market share, and on the flip side it could limit Android's effectiveness competing against the Mini in the 7-inch segment in the year ahead.
