Huntington Bank Names Susan Baker Shipley Regional President

Twenty-four year Pittsburgh banking veteran to lead Huntington's Western Pennsylvania and Ohio Valley Region

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Huntington Bank (NASDAQ: HBAN; www.huntington.com) has named Susan (Susie) Baker Shipley president of its Western Pennsylvania and Ohio Valley region, the bank announced today. Shipley joins Huntington from The Royal Bank of Scotland/Citizens Bank where she was head of global trade finance for North America.

In her new role, Shipley will lead the commercial business segment, and orchestrate business development and service activities among all of Huntington's businesses in the region, while deepening the bank's community relationships. She will report to Jim Dunlap, Huntington's regional and commercial banking director.

"A Pittsburgh native, Susie knows the diverse industries of the area and is committed to help local businesses. This knowledge and her strong banking background will enable her to drive Huntington's ongoing growth. Shipley will succeed David Hammer, who has chosen to leave Huntington to pursue other interests.

At Citizens, Shipley led all aspects of the global trade finance business in the U.S. and Canadian markets across all RBS and Citizens Bank client sectors. Shipley first joined Citizens in 2002 as managing director of domestic and international cash management. Prior to joining Citizens, Shipley worked for 14 years at PNC Bank in various management positions, ending her career there as deputy group head of PNC global services and head of the strategic partners business in its treasury management division.

Earlier this year, Shipley was recognized by the Pittsburgh Business Times as a 2012 Women in Business Award Winner for outstanding contributions and service to the community. She was a 2011 Athena International Finalist for the Pittsburgh Chapter and a 2010 Member of International Women's Forum (IWF), Western PA Chapter. She was also named a Distinguished Alumna of The Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh in 2006 and one of the "Best 50 Women in Business" in Pennsylvania in 2005.

A board member of The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh, she is also a former member of the Wharton Executive Education Advisory Board, University of Pennsylvania; former co-chair of the United Way Women's Leadership Campaign; and Cabinet Member, Western PA United Way Women's Leadership Initiative. She also served on the PennsylvaniaGovernor's Conference for Women Host Committee 2006-2008 and 2010.

In 1991, Shipley served as a Rotary International professional exchange team member in Mexico. She also was a 1988 Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and a 1987 Rotary International scholarship recipient.

Shipley earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Notre Dame, a master's in business administration from The Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, and a Certificate of Spanish Studies, Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain.
