Metropolitan Health Networks Shareholder Alert: Briscoe Law Firm and Powers Taylor, LLP Investigate Sale to Humana

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Former United States Securities and Exchange Commission attorney Willie Briscoe and the securities litigation firm of Powers Taylor, LLP are investigating the sale of Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. ("Metropolitan") (NYS: MDF) to Humana, Inc. for shareholders. Under the proposed deal valued at approximately $850 million, Metropolitan shareholders will only receive $11.25 in cash for each share of Metropolitan stock owned, well below at least one analyst's estimated value of $13.00 per share.

There is no cost or fee to you.

The Metropolitan sale investigation centers on whether Metropolitan's shareholders are receiving adequate compensation for their shares in the buyout, whether the transaction undervalues Metropolitan's stock, and whether Metropolitans' board attempted to obtain the highest share price for all shareholders prior to agreeing to the deal. According to an analyst with Yahoo! Finance, the true inherent value of Metropolitan could be as high as $13.00 per share, well above the proposed price of $11.25. Shareholder rights attorney Willie Briscoe stated that "we believe that this transaction may undervalue Metropolitan's stock, so our lawsuit will seek to obtain the highest share price for all shareholders."
