CORRECTING and REPLACING MEDIA ALERT: OpenText to Provide Free Fax and Email Facilities to New Jersey Voters

MEDIA ALERT: OPENTEXT TO PROVIDE FREE FAX AND EMAIL FACILITIES TO NEW JERSEY VOTERS

On November 6th, 2012, US election day, OpenText (NAS: OTEX) , (TSX: OTC) will open its Tinton Falls, NJ office to the public to vote by email or by fax from 7am to 8pm, via the OpenText Cloud. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Monmouth County was severely affected. As a member of the New Jersey community, OpenText would like to help those in need by providing free access to the internet, telephone and fax machines, so that they can be connected, handle personal matters and submit their ballots electronically.

"In this time of need, OpenText will open its facilities and provide free use of the OpenText Cloud so residents of the State of New Jersey can vote in Tuesday's election," said OpenText CEO Mark J. Barrenechea. "Our thoughts continue to be with all those that are affected by Hurricane Sandy."

The OpenText office is located at 100 Tormee Drive, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712, and has ample parking. The office will open at 7am on Tuesday and close at 8pm. Computers, scanners and fax machines will be set up in the lobby of the building connected to the OpenText Cloud to allow voters to request and submit their ballots, quickly and securely.

According to the New Jersey Department of State, displaced voters may vote electronically by submitting a mail-in ballot application either by e-mail or fax to their county clerk by 5pm on Tuesday. Once an application is approved, the clerk will electronically send a ballot to the voter by either fax or e-mail. Voters must return their electronic ballot - by fax or email - no later than November 6, 2012, at 8 p.m.
