Amazon Game Studios takes to the skies with Air Patriot on mobile
After releasing the relaxing "moving hidden object game" Living Classics on Facebook, Amazon Game Studios has taken a different approach with its second game, and its first on mobile: Air Patriots. Air Patriots offers tower defense play on both iOS and Android devices, as well as Kindle FIre / HD, and gamers can track their Kindle Fire achievements and progress via GameCircle, Amazon's own version of Apple's GameCenter.
The tower defense play in Air Patriots sees players controlling an army of planes with varying strengths and costs. By tapping on a plane and dragging a line across the screen, they'll create a flight path for that particular plane, which will automatically fire down on any enemy under said path. Planes may need to take multiple passes along an enemy wave to actually destroy them, and it's not uncommon to have multiple waves of enemies appearing from all sides of the screen at once.

As players defeat enemies, they'll earn resources that can be used to call in additional planes, but as the screen becomes more crowded, gamers will need to use a bit of strategy to make sure that their planes don't crash into each other, ruining their flight paths in the process.
