Seaspan Meets on the Top Line, Misses Where it Counts
Seaspan (NYS: SSW) reported earnings on Oct. 30. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.30. The seven earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.32 per share. GAAP EPS were $0.01 for Q3 versus -$2.01 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 78.9%, 210 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 49.1%, 80 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 10.6%, 8,980 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $169.1 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.31.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $657.6 million. The average EPS estimate is $1.27.
