Oliver Wyman's Automotive Consulting Practice Welcomes Three Detroit-Based Partners - Jörn Buss, Andrew Chien, Kevin Hauser

DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Oliver Wyman's global automotive industry consulting practice is pleased to welcome three new Partners, all based in Detroit.

Jörn Buss consults to auto industry clients on issues of product strategy and product development, advanced technologies, product cost, and quality management. Mr. Buss previously worked at several international consultancies and has held senior positions at Audi and Porsche. Mr. Buss's consulting work earned him the Ford 2010 Global Gold Supplier Award (shared) for a $100+ million purchased-parts cost optimization and development of a product value management process. He holds an M.B.A. from Boston University and a Master's in Management and Industrial Engineering (Dipl. Wirtschaftsingenieur) from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Andrew Chien has more than 20 years of specialized experience in consulting, engineering, and finance - serving clients in the financial services, commercial vehicle, off-highway, automotive, and energy industries. Mr. Chien is an auto industry thought leader on green vehicles, product development, complexity management, engineered products, cost reduction, strategic sourcing, and warranty improvement. He most recently served as president and managing director of North American operations for a leading consulting firm in the automotive sector. Mr. Chien previously held senior positions at Intel and Ford Motor Company (including as a Powertrain Design Engineer for Ford Electronics and a Race Engineer for the Benetton-Ford Formula One team). He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.

Kevin Hauser has 20 years of experience serving automakers, commercial vehicle OEMs, and their suppliers. Mr. Hauser's consulting work covers an array of strategic and operational topics, but his primary focus is in supply chain improvement and product cost reduction. In his prior experience, he held the position of senior vice president and head of the operations practice for a well-known consulting firm. Mr. Hauser also worked in the auto industry as a manufacturing engineer at ThyssenKrupp and as a research engineer at Ford Motor Company, where he specialized in composite materials and manufacturing process development. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
