The Rite Aid Foundation Donates $100,000 to the American Red Cross to Assist with Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

CAMP HILL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Rite Aid (NYS: RAD) announced today that The Rite Aid Foundation will donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help the victims, families and communities affected by Hurricane Sandy. In addition, Rite Aid will work closely with the American Red Cross to assess specific needs for other donations of emergency supplies.

"As they start to rebuild, it's important that they know they aren't alone. The vast majority of Rite Aid stores in those areas affected by the powerful storm are open and serving the prescription and merchandise needs of the local residents based on circumstances on the ground and direction from local authorities. The company is working closely with local authorities to reopen any of its locations closed due to power outages and storm damage.

The Rite Aid Foundation, founded in July 2001, is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to helping people in the communities Rite Aid serves.
