Campbell Soup (NYS: CPB) today announced that it is creating a new C-level position -- chief marketing officer -- and that Michael Senackerib, 47, will be the first to hold the job. He will report directly to CEO Denise Morrison, and will be responsible for a broad array of duties, including global advertising, design, and consumer and customer insights, according to a company press release.
Senackerib, who has an MBA from Columbia University, most recently worked as senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Hertz (NYS: HTZ) . He previously worked for Campbell's marketing department, from 1992 to 1996, and worked for snack giants Nabisco and Kraft.
Campbell Soup was founded in 1869. Its portfolio includes Campbell's, Pepperidge Farm, Arnott's, V8, and Bolthouse Farms.
The chief marketing officer role is "a natural next step for Campbell as we put the consumer at the center of everything we do for our iconic brands," said Morrison.
