Despite undeniably heightened competition in the smaller-form-factor tablet space, Austin doesn't think the iPad Mini is too threatening to Amazon shareholders. Amazon's current lineup of tablets isn't accretive to earnings at the moment, and it remains to be seen whether selling these devices at cost, or even a narrow loss, will be made up for by more consumer purchases in the future.
