Marion County Traffic Court Offers Citizens New Email Notification for Moving Violations

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- In partnership with Local Government Online (LoGO) Indiana, an affiliate of NIC Inc., the Marion Superior Court (MSC) Traffic Court and the Marion County Clerk's office have launched an email notification system to alert drivers when their tickets for moving violations are available for payment. The notification system is for moving violations only, not parking tickets.

Many citizens wishing to pay fines immediately for moving violations are often unaware there is a lag between when the ticket is issued and entered into the court's system. With this new notification system, the driver can request an email be sent to them when their ticket is available for payment. This free customer service enhancement eliminates citizens repeatedly checking online to learn if ticket and fine information have been posted. Likewise, the new service also reduces telephone calls to the MSC Traffic Court to check the status of a ticket. The MSC Traffic Court is one of the busiest courts in the state with nearly 200,000 cases each year. Launched on September 1, more than1,325 citizens have already signed up for this service.

To sign up for email notification for moving violations, visit http://www.indygov.biz, select the "Payment Center" menu option, click "Ticket received after 02/01/2009," and search by name and date of birth. If no ticket is found, citizens will be offered the option to be notified by email when the ticket has been entered into the system.
