CityVille Pumpkin Patch: Everything you need to know

Updated

Continuing in CityVille's celebration of Halloween, mayors can now build their very own Pumpkin Patch and grow pumpkins with the help of their friends. This feature is available to players that have reached at least Level 10, and it comes with a three part goal series to guide you through. You'll need tons of building materials, and will need to bug your friends to earn them, but we're here with a guide on how to finish these goals as easily as possible, thanks to Zynga. Let's get started!

Place Your Patch

  • Place a Pumpkin Patch

  • Find a Partner for the Pumpkin Patch

  • Harvest 40 Witch Potions

The Pumpkin Patch is only available to place through this goal, but you'll automatically be prompted to place one the next time you login to the game, so it's not hard to find. From there, you'll be able to click on the Pumpkin Patch's frame to invite a friend. You'll be able to ask a particular friend via an individual request sent right to them, so make sure to pick a friend that's also active in their own city to make the most progress possible. As for the Witch Potions, these are earned at random when you tend "Pumpkin Theme" buildings that are now available to purchase from the game's store. These include items like Jack-O-Lantern houses, the Pumpkin Cannery, all of which cost City Cash to build. If you're trying to save your City Cash, you can also build items like the Swamp Shanty and Zombie Frat House for coins. You'll receive 100 XP and three Witch Potions for completing this goal.

Pumpkins Aplenty

  • Ask friends for 15 Scarecrows

  • Have 2 Pumpkin Partners

  • Have 4 Pumpkin Patches

At the very beginning of this event, you'll technically have a "Level 1" pumpkin, and can then start growing that pumpkin up to Level 6 by collecting Witch Potions and Purple Fertilizer to create Magic Fertilizers. Again, the Witch Potions are earned by tending themed buildings, but you'll need to ask your friends for the Purple Fertilizer. You'll have seven days to finish the growth of the pumpkin all of the way up to Level 6, at which point it will be weighed and you'll receive your final rewards. This is easier said than done however, as you'll need a different amount of Magic Fertilizers for each Pumpkin, ranging from two for a Level 2 Pumpkin to 23 for a Level 6 Pumpkin. After that, you can grow more Pumpkins via additional Pumpkin Patches, which is required for this goal. As for the Scarecrows, you can simply ask your friends to send these to you. You'll earn 200 XP and eight Witch Potions when you complete this goal.

Pumpkin Perfection

  • Harve 5 Pumpkin Partners

  • Harvest 200 Witch Potions

  • Have 8 Pumpkin Patches

This goal is more time consuming than anything else, as it doesn't technically require you to spend a lot of coins in completing it. Instead, you'll just need to keep spending energy to collect Witch Potions, and will need to keep rushing through the growth of each Pumpkin with as much help from friends as you can gather. There's definitely incentive to growing these Pumpkins outside of these goals though, as you'll earn grand prizes when your Pumpkins are weighed. These prizes differ each day, but tend to contain bundles of Goods, Zoning Permits and coins. In addition, when you finish this final individual goal, you'll receive 400 XP and 12 more Witch Potions so that you can continue to grow Pumpkins.

These goals don't have a time limit as of this writing, but it's likely that they won't remain around for too long after Halloween. That being the case, make sure to make the most of your daily requests within the game to earn the most Purple Fertilizers as possible in the time we do have. Good luck!
