Avnet Meets on Revenues, Misses on EPS

EPS came in at $0.59. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.60 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.70 for Q1 were 22% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.90 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 11.7%, about the same as the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 1.7%, 180 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 1.7%, 50 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $6.27 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.82.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $24.56 billion. The average EPS estimate is $3.25.
