US Airways Group (NYS: LCC) reported earnings on Oct. 24. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Sep. 30 (Q3), US Airways Group met expectations on revenues and beat expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue grew slightly and GAAP earnings per share grew significantly.
Margins grew across the board.
US Airways Group booked revenue of $3.53 billion. The nine analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ hoped for net sales of $3.57 billion on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 2.8% higher than the prior-year quarter's $3.44 billion.

EPS came in at $0.98. The 12 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.95 per share. GAAP EPS of $1.24 for Q3 were 202% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.41 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 21.8%, 160 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 8.0%, 240 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 6.9%, 470 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $3.26 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.12.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $13.83 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.73.
The stock has a one-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 458 members out of 790 rating the stock outperform, and 332 members rating it underperform.
