- DCiM XTM delivers IT infrastructure optimization supporting current and future research -

FOLSOM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Rackwise, Inc. (RACK.OB) (the "Company"), a leading developer of data center infrastructure management ("DCIM") software and service solutions, today announced that the Company has executed a license agreement with Sandia National Laboratories ("Sandia") to install and deploy Rackwise DCiM XTMin Sandia's multiple data centers located at its principal facilities. Sandia is a multi-program engineering and science laboratory operated and managed by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration. Sandia has major R&D responsibilities in national security, energy and environmental technologies and economic competitiveness, supporting numerous federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private sector companies and organizations.

A Federally Funded Research and Development Center, Sandia is a multidisciplinary, national security, engineering laboratory. Recognized as a premier science, technology, and engineering institution, Sandia performs and supports research and other activities involving nuclear weapons and security, energy and climate, high performance computing, sustainable transportation, and technology in space. With 8700 employees, Sandia is at the forefront of innovation and collaborative research working with universities and companies on research projects with significant potential impact on U.S. national security and related interests. Sandia's multiple data centers are critical to their research and project efforts across all disciplines and it selected Rackwise DCiM XTM as part of Sandia's short and long term commitments to optimize its information technology ("IT") infrastructure. Sandia anticipates initially utilizing Rackwise DCiM XTM to gain deeper insight and control over all data center assets, while subsequently investigating the deployment of other features and functionalities within the DCiM toolset. Another consideration significantly contributing to the selection by Sandia was the robust reporting capabilities provided by the Rackwise DCiM XTM product, offering extensive visibility into multiple aspects of data center structure and utilization.

Said Phil Kuhlman, Sandia's infrastructure hardware solution architect, "We are anxious to have the central view into our data center assets and the power change modeling capabilities that Rackwise DCiM XTM provides. Prior to implementing the Rackwise toolset, this information was compiled and managed by many different IT staff with no centralized view, and modeling of changes in a standardized way was not possible."

Mr. Guy A. Archbold, Rackwise, Inc. Chief Executive Officer, added, "Sandia National Laboratories is one of our nation's leading research institutions with a 60 year tradition of contribution to our national defense, energy, climate, and space programs. We are pleased and proud that Sandia has selected our DCiM XTM offering to monitor, manage, and optimize their information technology infrastructure, clearly a core resource contributing to their critical research and project efforts. In selecting Rackwise DCiM XTM, Sandia joins other premier U.S. national research institutions including SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory in utilizing Rackwise® offerings to efficiently and effectively plan, manage, and control their data centers and computing ecosystems to achieve the highest levels of IT operations and cost optimization by assuring reliability, discovering hidden capacity, and enabling efficiencies across their IT landscape.
