Data Center Colocation Provider CyrusOne Solves Today's IT Executive Concerns Head On

Company explores hurdles data center executives face and top colocation solutions in new publication, featuring research from leading industry analyst firm

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- A new report recently published by Gartner (NYS: IT) , the world's leading information technology research and advisory company, examines hurdles faced by executives that run their own data centers and the role colocation can play in overcoming them. This new Gartner report is featured in a newsletter from global data center provider CyrusOne, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell (NYS: CBB) .

According to the Gartner study, the five major issues plaguing data center managers include: the expected 800 percent growth in data during the next five years; the intense space, power and cooling consumption needs of their data center facilities; increased pressure on data center performance created by the rapid pursuit and adoption of virtualized infrastructures to support the cloud; modernizing legacy applications; and identifying and translating business requirements.

"Data center executives are caught in an awkward phase of the slow economic recovery, as they try to support new initiatives from the business without a commensurate increase in their budgets," Gartner said in the report. "Many will need to improve the efficiency of their workloads and infrastructure to free up money to support these emerging initiatives."

CyrusOne's complimentary newsletter highlights the critical role top-tier colocation partners can play in helping enterprises effectively optimize both short-term and long-term capital and operating costs. The featured Gartner report highlights strategies for storage utilization and management, space optimization, cooling, security, cloud computing, and long-term data center design to meet evolving business demands.
