Florida Peninsula Wins Overall Industry Connect Award for Outstanding Innovation

FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CSC (NYS: CSC) today announced eight insurance and self-insured organizations received awards for outstanding collaboration and leadership through the use of CSC technology and services. The company's client community nominated and selected the winning carriers, which were honored at an awards ceremony at the CSC Connect for Property and Casualty conference, attended by nearly 700 insurance professionals, in Nashville, Tenn.

Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, Boca Raton, Fla., received the distinguished Connect Award, which honors one organization for outstanding innovation and collaboration across all five award categories: Industry Leadership, Innovation Community, Project Management Leadership, Quality Management Leadership and Technical Excellence. The company was chosen for the successful implementation of its "Green Solution" initiative, which allows agents and customers to view their policy documents online, eliminating paper and processing costs. Agents benefit by receiving real-time communication through electronic documents created by POINT IN, CSC's policy platform used by nearly 100 clients. Florida Peninsula also received the Project Management Award for outstanding project management principles and modern techniques, which allowed for a seamless and timely implementation completed within budget.

"Green Solution's modern capabilities have ramped up our ability to manage and distribute policy documents faster and more efficiently, and we are proud to provide this new service to our customers," said Chris Chandler, director of operations, Florida Peninsula. "We are proud partners with CSC, and we attribute the project's successful implementation to CSC's deep knowledge of the business and effective use of technology and resources to support our goals of accelerated operations and enhanced customer service."

Accident Fund Holdings, Lansing, Mich., won the Industry Leadership Award for AccuPremium, a pay-as-you-go offering created using POINT IN and Agency Link, CSC's agency portal software. AccuPremium allows policyholders to pay insurance premiums electronically based on actual payrolls each month, eliminating large down payments and minimizing the potential for year-end audit adjustments.

The Innovation Community Award was presented to Chubb Custom Market, Inc., Warren, N.J., for the company's Commercial Package Policy (CPP) Endorsements and Renewals project, which enables on-demand processing using POINT IN. The project extends the business model to provide endorsement, renewal, cancellation, reinstatement and non-renewal transactions via Agency Link for commercial property and general liability, and benefits the entire Agency Link CPP customer community.

Indiana Farm Bureau, Indianapolis, won the Quality Management Award for its collaboration with CSC to convert the company's largest line of business, automobile, to Exceed Policy, CSC's policy component used by many Tier-One carriers. With the carrier's homeowners line of business already on Exceed, Indiana Farm Bureau was able to consolidate their personal lines business into one system.

The Technical Excellence Award went to Swiss Re Group, Zurich, Switzerland, for its Electronic Document Management System, which allows employees to automatically create work items in AWD, a business process management system that allows carriers to streamline business processes. By taking advantage of existing AWD indexing capabilities, users can access documents added both manually and generated by the system from all applications; AWD, Policy Accelerator, CSC's new policy management software component, and claims management software, Advanced Claims.

In addition, CSC honored clients through Well Connected Awards for innovations that improve the efficiency of core insurance processes. Recognition was given in each of the following areas: Policy (Swiss Re Group), Agency (Florida Peninsula), Corporate Claims (Publix Super Markets, Inc.), Carrier Claims (Ohio Mutual Insurance Group), Billing (Brethren Mutual Insurance Company), and Business Process Services (Accident Fund Holdings).

"The Connect Awards bring well-deserved attention to insurance companies leading the way with next-generation technology and processes," said Jeffery Schwalk, president of CSC's Property & Casualty Insurance Division. "We are honored to collaborate with our influential client community and commend the award-winning organizations for their successes and the acknowledgment they received from their peers."
