The Hartford Enhances Property And Casualty Claims Capabilities With New Claims Management System

Guidewire ClaimCenter, Cognizant selected to support strategic business investment

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Hartford announced today that it will make significant enhancements to its claims platform to better serve customers and achieve higher quality claim outcomes and greater efficiency overall.

"As The Hartford executes on its strategy to focus on its historical strengths as a property and casualty insurer and group benefits provider, outstanding claims management is a key differentiator," said Andrew Pinkes, executive vice president of claims for The Hartford. "This investment will allow us to continue to build on our strong claim performance as we grow our Commercial and Consumer Markets businesses."

The Hartford has selected Guidewire ClaimCenter® as its new property and casualty claims management system. ClaimCenter will replace multiple claims systems currently in use. Cognizant, a Guidewire PartnerConnect™ Affiliate partner, will serve as the system integrator for the project.

The Hartford chose ClaimCenter after conducting a thorough search for a new claims management system. "The user feedback from our team about ClaimCenter has been very positive, and the system's capabilities align well with our business objectives," said Pinkes.

"We are very pleased to welcome The Hartford as a Guidewire customer," said Steve Sherry, vice president, The Americas, Guidewire Software (NYS: GWRE) . "We are extremely honored to begin a long-term relationship with one of the most respected brands in the property and casualty insurance industry and look forward to helping The Hartford team achieve its objectives."

"We look forward to serving as the integration partner for this project, building on our long-term relationship with The Hartford," said Ben Bengtson, senior vice president and global market leader for Insurance at Cognizant (NAS: CTSH) . "We are pleased to bring the knowledge and technical capabilities needed to ensure a successful implementation of Guidewire ClaimCenter at The Hartford."
