Microsoft Earnings Affect Global PC Market

Updated

Microsoft (NAS: MSFT) reported earnings to be down 8%, and profits down 22%. Things are not looking good for Microsoft only a quarter before the major product launch of Windows 8 and the surface tablet. Being so close to the PC market, Microsoft may be one of the reasons the PC market is in shambles. Companies such as Intel (NAS: INTC) , HP (NYS: HPQ) , and Dell (NAS: DELL) are also being impacted by the overall PC market.

It's been a frustrating path for Microsoft investors, who've watched their company fail to capitalize on the incredible growth in mobile over the past decade. Analyst Andrew Tonner advises that, at this time, investing with caution would be best, at least until the Q4 numbers play out. Nevertheless, with the release of its own tablet, along with the widely anticipated Windows 8 operating system, the company is looking to make a splash in the PC market. In this brand new premium report on Microsoft, our analyst explains that, while the opportunity is huge, the challenges are many.
