CU Bancorp and California United Bank Director Kenneth J. Cosgrove to be Honored by St. Joseph Hospital Foundation
ENCINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CU Bancorp (Nasdaq: CUNB) and its subsidiary California United Bank (collectively "CUB" or "the Company")today announced that CU Bancorp Director and California United Bank Vice Chairman Kenneth J. Cosgrove and his wife Carolyn Cosgrove will be recognized by St. Joseph Hospital Foundation as recipients of the "The Spirit of St. Joseph" award, the Foundation's highest honor.
St. Joseph Hospital Foundation is dedicated to the philanthropic support of St. Joseph Hospital (Orange County), a nationally renowned, 525-bed, not-for-profit Catholic hospital widely recognized for clinical excellence and compassionate, family-centered care. Founded in 1970, the Foundation provides support to St. Joseph Hospital through the development of charitable contributions as well as by creating community awareness of and involvement in the hospital.

Mr. Cosgrove was appointed to the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Board in 1992 and served as chair in 2004 and 2005, having served in every officer capacity leading up to that leadership position. He also chaired the Finance, Executive, and Board Development Committees and served on the Master Plan Campaign Steering Committee. His involvement with the hospital has continued as a member of the Hospital Leadership Council and chair of the "Investing in a Healthy Tomorrow" campaign.
Professionally, Mr. Cosgrove has served on the Board of Directors for CU Bancorp and California United Bank since CUB's acquisition of Premier Commercial Bancorp in July 2012 and recently was appointed Vice Chairman of California United Bank. Mr. Cosgrove had served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Premier Commercial Bank, N.A. since the bank's inception. With over 30 years of bank management and consulting experience, he has been actively involved in Orange County banking since 1974.
The Cosgroves will accept their award at St. Joseph Hospital's Celebration 2012 to be held Saturday, October 20, at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hospital's Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery program, which expands access to innovations that assist surgeons in performing a wide range of surgical procedures.
