CACI Awarded Prime Contract on $7 Billion Multiple-Award Program to Support U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command
New Work Will Upgrade Software Used In-Theatre and in Business and Enterprise Areas
ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CACI International Inc (NYSE:CACI) announced today that it has been selected as one of several prime contractors to support software upgrades and prototyping for the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command's (CECOM) Software and Systems Engineering Services Next Generation (SSES NexGen) program, which has a ceiling of $7 billion. This five-year (two base, one two-year option, and one option year) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract supports the Army's Software Engineering Center (SEC). It provides the company with significant new work in the software service arena and expands CACI's presence in its command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) market segment.
CECOM SEC plays a role for all U.S. Armed Forces in developing software solutions and services, bringing them to their full potential, and delivering them in a timely manner to maintain superiority and information dominance. The SSES NexGen program will support Army systems and software across the entire lifecycle, from development through fielding and operational support. The contract concentrates on providing software-related support in three primary mission areas involving in-theatre U.S. forces, a wide array of business systems, and enterprise-wide components.
The contract covers 16 work areas. CACI will provide worldwide support primarily in three of these: software and acquisition solutions that will help CECOM customers rapidly acquire and field software; support for software after it is produced and deployed; and field support for tactical and business systems throughout the enterprise. CACI is positioned to contribute in other areas such as cloud technology, cybersecurity, service-oriented architecture, and virtualization.
Key factors in this win include CACI's proven ability to manage large IDIQ programs; its well-established management processes; and the strengths of CACI and its teammates in key technology solutions areas, including cloud computing, mobility, cybersecurity, and complex "big data" systems applicable across the full range of Army and C4ISR applications.
