Access Idaho's Innovative On-The-Go Mobile App Receives National eGovernment Award

BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- e.Republic's Center for Digital Government recently named Idaho's new Android-based mobile payment application, On-The-Go, as one of nation's best government-to-citizen solutions in its 2012 Best of the Web Digital Government Achievement Awards. On-The-Go is offered through Idaho's official website athttp://www.idaho.govand allows state and local government agencies to accept credit and debit card payments via any Android device.

On-The-Go is a ready-to-use solution that accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa payments through Access Idaho's secure payment processor. Access Idaho offers On-The-Go to government agencies without merchant fees or monthly minimums, and provides technical and marketing support at no cost to state or local government entities.


The application is compatible with Bluetooth swipe card readers, which can capture customer credit card information securely whether or not devices are within cell or Wi-Fi coverage. Upon connecting to a service area or a secure Wi-Fi network, pending payments will automatically process.

The Digital Government Achievement Awards highlight outstanding agency and department websites and applications. Fifty‐six awards in eight categories were given this year. Judges for this year's awards included representatives from the Center for Digital Government and officials from the 2011 Best of the Web-winning state and local governments.

The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. The Center is a division of e.Republic, a national publishing, event, and research company focused on smart media for public sector innovation.
