Web's Newest Reality Show Crowns Its First-Ever SuperChef Kid

Bounty and the Creators of Iron Chef Announce Josie O. Winner of "SuperChef Kids"

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bounty helped the next generation of great chefs bring it as they competed on the web's newest (and only) reality cooking competition for kids. From the creators of Iron Chef, the SuperChef Kids Web serieslaunched a massive search to find the most talented kid chefs (ages 8-12) from across the country. Throughout the series, these Super Chefs's culinary talents were challenged as they sautéed, baked and chopped their way to the finale. In the end, Josie O. from Newton, PA claimed the $5,000 prize and title of SuperChef Kid.

Each episode brought on new challenges for these chefs-in-training; putting their taste buds to the test and allowing them to flaunt their cooking expertise. Teaming up with celebrity chef and co-host of ABC's "The Chew" Carla Hall (Top Chef), Bounty played an integral role in all 15 webisodes, cleaning up the messes these amateur chefs left behind as they let their creative juices flow.

In each webisode, viewers watched as these kid chefs enhanced their cooking skills in the kitchen, with guidance from Chef Hall and guest mentors, Chef Aaron Sanchez, Chef John Besh, and Chef Elizabeth Karmel. "Having the opportunity to guide America's next generation of great chefs while enhancing their skills each episode was an unforgettable experience for me," said Carla Hall, host of SuperChef kids. "With help from Bounty, Josie didn't worry about making messes. She fully embraced her creativity in the kitchen, which is what ultimately allowed her to win the competition."

Josie's first rapid fire challenge involved developing her palette by being tasked with tasting Chef Sanchez's salsa verde, and then having to re-create the dish on her own. In the next challenge, she had to quickly make as many blueberry pancakes as possible while keeping a clean work space. "I'm a lot of fun in the kitchen and I'm very creative with the things I make," said JosieO. "I like to give color and imagination to my dishes."

Josie's skills were especially tested in Episode 11, where she was tasked to create a burger. The catch? Josie and her family embraced veganism two months before filming! She rose to the occasion and nailed the competition with her Cute and Funny Little Zombie burger, a delicious blue cheese infused burger.

The finale consisted of creating an entrée using five ingredients that represent the official 'My Plate' guidelines for a healthy diet and including: fruits, veggies, protein, grain and dairy. Josie's final dish, and ultimately what won her the SuperChef Kids title, was a very sophisticated dish of chicken breast with tuscan kale, quinoa and an orange and mascarpone based sauce.

"Teaming up with Fuji Senkei for the groundbreaking SuperChef Kids series has helped us inspire the next generation of great chefs," said Laura Dressman, Communications Manager for Bounty Paper Towels. "We hope Josie and all kid chefs alike will continue to embrace their culinary talent in the kitchen, without worrying about the mess."
