Brad Berenson to Lead Litigation & Legal Policy at GE
FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- GE announced today that Brad Berenson has been named Senior Counsel for Litigation and Legal Policy. In this role, he will be responsible for litigation, investigations and compliance matters globally for GE.
Berenson joins GE with more than 19 years of private practice and senior government experience. Most recently, he was a partner at Sidley & Austin LLP in Washington, DC, a firm he joined in 1993. His broad litigation practice at Sidley focused on litigation, investigations and regulatory matters in a broad range of different areas.
From 2001 to 2003, Berenson was Associate Counsel to the President of the United States in the White House Counsel's office. In that role, he worked on judicial selection, congressional oversight and investigations, and policy initiatives and litigation arising from the attacks of September 11, including the USA Patriot Act, military commissions, detainee and anti-terrorism litigation, presidential action against terrorism financing, and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.

Berenson is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, where he was the Supreme Court editor of the Harvard Law Review. He is also a summa cum laude graduate from Yale College, with a degree in history.
