Phillips' presentation, "One Petabyte and Beyond: Reinventing Storage for Rapid Data Growth," will take attendees through Avnet's journey to manage the tremendous growth in its mission-critical data, which quadrupled in just two years to reach nearly one petabyte. Phillips will detail Avnet's award-winning approach to overcome this data storage challenge by eliminating technology silos, building a scalable storage architecture, and deploying a network that moves data around quickly. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of data storage management approaches that not only accommodate the fast pace of data growth most companies are experiencing, but also significantly improve business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
"IT teams are trying to manage unprecedented data storage growth rates, which is partly being driven by the consumerization of IT," said Phillips. "SNW Fall 2012 is an opportunity for storage experts to learn how companies of all sizes are innovatively addressing this challenge and redesigning their IT infrastructure to adapt to rapid data growth. By sharing best practices, IT teams will be more prepared to effectively address their company's data storage needs today and well into the future."
