Voice Assist Mobile App Begins to Gain Traction on Android Phones

LAKE FOREST, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Voice Assist, Inc. (OTCBB: VSST), an award-winning provider of mobile speech and handsfree solutions today announced that its mobile app for Android phones is beginning to gain traction.

Voice Assist for Android provides a safe driving application that lets drivers use voice commands to call, email, text and post to social networks like Twitter and Facebook without typing.

The user interface was optimized for productive safe driving with the ability to issue command after command without the need to hold the phone or press buttons repeatedly.

International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasted worldwide sales of new mobile phones this year to be approximately 1.8 billion phones. IDC projects Android will remain the most shipped smartphone operating system over the course of their five-year forecast with 61% market-share projected for 2012.

"Although Voice Assist can be used on any mobile phone, we focused our early development efforts of our mobile app on Android phones because of the overall market acceptance," said Michael Metcalf, CEO of Voice Assist.

"Since we introduced our mobile app for the Android operating system, we have seen exponential growth on a weekly basis. Just in the past 30 days, we've added over 2 million contacts that can now be dialed or texted by voice and this is just the beginning," said Metcalf.

Voice Assist's mobile app for Android was recently selected by and is being featured on Android phones by a nationwide Tier 1 wireless carrier beginning this week.

"We are very excited about the early traction we are beginning to see and we look forward to building upon our early success as additional wireless carriers, app review sites and customer reviews continue to give Voice Assist positive reviews and increase our market exposure," said Metcalf.

The new app is available as a free download from Google Play. A free subscription is available with an ad-supported version and ad-free versions are also available beginning at $4.95 per month.

Voice Assist is now working through the approval process with Apple and hopes to gain additional traction with our application that works on all versions of iOS as well.
