Ed Sullivan's Former Connecticut Country Home (House of the Day)

This unassuming country house in Southbury, Conn., has a big name behind it: It was once owned by the late, great Ed Sullivan. And the home's pool has even bigger names attached to it: The Beatles, who made their debut in the U.S. on "The Ed Sullivan Show," supposedly took a dip there.

Built in 1920, the 3,500-square-foot home sits on 1.81 acres of pristine Connecticut land. Sullivan was attracted to its slate floors, rustic quality and the soaring wood-beamed ceilings, which are still present in the renovated kitchen. According to the listing, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home also features "generous windows," two fireplaces and a master bedroom on both floors.
