Wells Fargo Names Christopher Lewis Head of Global Trade Services

Industry veteran to lead the company's market-leading trade business

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Continuing to serve the global financial needs of its customers, Wells Fargo's International Group, part of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) , announced today that Christopher Lewis has been named executive vice president and head of Global Trade Services. Lewis will manage efforts to grow Wells Fargo's industry-leading trade business through increased cross-sell, product enhancement, sales and distribution. His team will also work closely with the company's Global Financial Institutions and Global Banking teams to ensure trade products are available to all customer segments, including commercial and corporate clients and financial institutions. Lewis is based in San Francisco and reports to Richard Yorke, head of Wells Fargo's International Group.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Lewis spent more than 20 years at HSBC where he most recently was head of trade and supply chain for North America. He also led the company's trade and supply chain operations in Greater China, where he helped drive significant growth in revenue and profitability. While at HSBC, Lewis also managed transaction banking teams in the Americas, Middle East, and Asia.

Lewis began his career at Barclays National Bank Limited in Johannesburg, South Africa and also managed Corporate Banking for Saudi British Bank in Saudi Arabia. Lewis has a bachelor's of arts degree in literature and economics from the University of San Diego in California and received his Qualified Member accreditation from the Institute of Bankers, South Africa.
