Thanksgiving Stirs Up Sweet Sensations

DOMINO®SUGAR IS SET TO SWEETEN TURKEY DAY WITH THE DEBUT OF A NEW FLOAT IN THE 86TH ANNUAL MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE®

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Forget the Turkey... this Thanksgiving is all about the sweet treats, especially at the 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®. On Thursday, Nov. 22, Domino Sugar will stir up sweet sensations with a new float in the legendary spectacle. The giant confectionery of baked goodies will delight millions of spectators who will clamor for the tasty treats aboard the whimsical floating wonder.

"We are extraordinarily pleased to welcome Domino Sugar to the Macy's Parade with this marvelously whimsical creation," said Amy Kule, executive producer of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. "Domino Sugar has helped the family baker whip up incredible holiday treats for generations and this fanciful take on the holiday baking tradition is sure to please millions of fans this Thanksgiving."

"On behalf of our entire Domino Sugar family, I am delighted to have our brand associated with Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We are pleased to know that we are helping to make Thanksgiving such a special and uniquely American holiday!" said Brian O'Malley, president and CEO of Domino Foods, Inc.

"Stirrin' Up Sweet Sensations," the new Domino Sugar float, features a magical take on holiday baking. Designed and constructed by the artists of Macy's Parade Studio, the centerpiece of this 26-foot tall float is the giant cookie dough bowl and cookie press that dishes out the confections. Three stories above the ground, a giant spoon stirs the cookie dough in an equally colossal bowl. As it travels into the cookie press, the dough drops in perfect dollops onto the turntable and finally into the oven. The savory treats are then baked to a golden brown and shoot down the ramp to the awaiting cars of the Cookie Express train which is ready to deliver the yummy, baked goodness to children everywhere.

The 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade airs nationwide on NBC-TV, on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 from 9 a.m. - Noon in all time zones.
