FalconStor Software's Chris Poelker to Present on Disaster Recovery at Data Center World

Poelker Will Discuss Data Protection and How to Prioritize IT Recovery Operation Services

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: FALC) , a market leader in disk-based data protection, today announced that Chris Poelker, FalconStor's vice president of enterprise solutions, will present at the Data Center World fall conference in Nashville, Tenn., on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Poelker will discuss the importance of disaster recovery (DR) planning, how to effectively protect data and ways to prevent costly IT downtime.

Sponsored by AFCOM, one of the largest data center associations, Data Center World explores all aspects of data center management from facilities overviews to disaster recovery, security and various technologies. Poelker's presentation, "Optimizing Disaster Recovery and Data Protection in the Cloud," draws upon his decades of experience as well as his recent position as a deputy commissioner of the TechAmerica Foundation Commission on the Leadership Opportunity in U.S. Deployment of the Cloud (CLOUD²). He will discuss the value of data protection for virtualized, physical and hybrid environments and how to prioritize IT recovery.

"Most companies believe that having a copy of their data in the event of an IT issue or natural disaster is adequate data protection. However, data center managers must examine how to recover the applications and services on which this data resides to have a true comprehensive data protection and DR plan," said Poelker. "Companies without a complete IT recovery plan lose millions in productivity and downtime when an event does occur. Through this session, data center managers will have a better understanding on how to optimize their data protection strategies."

Data Center World fall conference will take place at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Conference Center in Nashville, Tenn., September 30 through October 3, 2012.
