Prizner Joins Baker as VP-East Region Manager of Rail & Transit
PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT:BKR), has announced that John S. Prizner, Jr., P.E., joined Baker's Connecticut office as vice president, East Region manager of Rail and Transit (R&T). His initial project assignment will be as program director for Connecticut Department of Transportation's CTfastrak program. CTfastrak is a 9.4-mile bus transit exclusive guideway and includes eleven transit stations and a 5-mile, multi-use trail for pedestrians and bikers. He has extensive experience and a proven track record of successful planning, design, construction and program management of transportation and civil engineering projects, including highways, bridges and public mass transit.
"John is a recognized industry leader who brings a new focus to Baker's East Region Rail & Transit Practice," said David C. Wilcock, P.E., vice president and national practice leader for R&T. "With his experience and leadership, we will be able to further develop both our R&T Practice in the East and our national Bus Rapid Transit program."
Prizner's experience in the transit industry includes director of engineering and construction with the Port Authority of Allegheny County, Pa. Since then, he has worked on new-start transit projects in Virginia Beach, Pittsburgh, Phoenix and Los Angeles. He obtained his BSCE from the University of Pittsburgh; is a registered Professional Engineer in Arizona, Florida, Pennsylvania and Washington; and an active member of American Society of Civil Engineers, Association for Bridge Construction and Design, National Society of Professional Engineers, Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, and Society of American Military Engineers.
