GaveKal Capital Announces New Name For GaveKal Platform Company Fund (GAVAX, GAVIX)

GaveKal Knowledge Leaders Fund reflects focus on companies investing in knowledge

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- GaveKal Capital today announced a new name for the GaveKal Platform Company Fund (NASDAQ: GAVAX, GAVIX), the GaveKal Knowledge Leaders Fund. The fund's objective, strategy and management remain the same.

The new name more accurately describes and differentiates the fund's investment process, which seeks to identify mature, global companies in the developed world that exhibit an above-average ability to deliver market leadership by executing on knowledge-rich initiatives. Knowledge-rich activities usually are built on a company's unique intellectual property, and some examples of these activities include R&D, design, marketing, distribution and services.

"As the fund grows and is considered by greater numbers of potential investors, we believe the broader investment community will be better served by a more intuitive name," said Shawn Paulk, head of distribution for GaveKal Capital. "Certain global companies are developing rich reservoirs of knowledge that position them with the potential to lead in growth and performance. Our differentiator is our proprietary process for identifying and investing in those companies."

The fund's NASDAQ ticker remains the same. Investors are not required to take any action in relation to the name change. Portfolio Manager Steven C. Vannelli, CFA, and his investment team will continue to manage the GaveKal Knowledge Leaders Fund.

GaveKal Capital has over $400 million in assets under management in the GaveKal Knowledge Leaders Strategy, including the GaveKal Knowledge Leaders Fund and the GaveKal Knowledge Leaders UCITS Fund (BLOOMBERG: GAVPLAT ID Equity ISIN: IE00B1DS1042) and separate accounts.

GaveKal Knowledge Leaders Strategy

GaveKal Capital's Knowledge Leaders Strategy products are long-only global equity funds with the aim to outperform the MSCI World Index with lower volatility. The strategy targets those companies in the developed world that GaveKal identifies as tapping a deep reservoir of intangible capital to generate earnings growth. These industry leaders employ intellectual property, or knowledge, into their products and services, unlike companies that simply produce commodities or other raw materials. In addition, they often possess competitive advantages such as a strong brand, proprietary knowledge or a unique distribution mechanism.

The investment team has developed a proprietary process that seeks to identify companies with histories of demonstrating superior operating results through intelligent application of their knowledge. The team has combined more than 16 years of institutional knowledge, advanced technology platforms and thousands of development hours to design the intellectual property behind its process.
